Spiritual and Emotional Support in Southern California

Compassionate Care for Patients and Families

A serious illness affects more than physical health. It can bring uncertainty, fear, sadness, spiritual questions, and changes in family relationships. Serenity Hospice Care provides personalized spiritual and emotional support to help patients and families find comfort, express their feelings, and honor what matters most to them.

Based in Claremont, California, we support eligible hospice patients and their loved ones throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, and Riverside counties.

Connect With a Support Counselor

Caring for the Whole Person

Our approach to hospice care considers the patient’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Every person has different beliefs, traditions, relationships, and ways of coping with serious illness.

Spiritual support does not require a religious affiliation. Some patients find strength in faith or prayer, while others turn to family, nature, personal reflection, music, or meaningful memories. Our role is to listen without judgment and provide support that reflects each person’s values.

What Does Spiritual and Emotional Support Include?

Non-Denominational Spiritual Guidance

Spiritual counselors offer a respectful space to explore questions about meaning, hope, faith, uncertainty, forgiveness, or personal legacy. Support is available to people of all religious traditions as well as those with secular or non-religious beliefs.

Emotional Support and Counseling

Patients and relatives may receive guidance for anxiety, fear, sadness, anticipatory grief, stress, loneliness, or other difficult emotions. Our team helps individuals express their feelings and identify healthy ways to cope.

Support for Families and Caregivers

Family members may experience exhaustion, uncertainty, guilt, or disagreements about care. Guided conversations can encourage open communication, mutual understanding, and shared support.

Life Review and Legacy Activities

Patients may choose to reflect on meaningful experiences and share memories with loved ones. Legacy activities can include recording stories, writing letters, creating memory books, organizing photographs, or discussing important family traditions.

Coordination With Faith Communities

At the patient’s request, our team can coordinate with a trusted pastor, priest, rabbi, imam, chaplain, or other spiritual leader. This helps patients maintain connections with their personal faith communities and traditions.
